Overview

Localgiving’s mission is to strengthen UK communities by safeguarding the sustainability of the local voluntary sector.

They do this by supporting local charitable organisations to diversify their income through online fundraising. They provide tools, training and advice to help local groups connect with supporters online, improve their digital skills and develop practical fundraising experience. They are also a leading advocate for the sector and work to raise awareness and support for local groups from the public, government and businesses.

Since they launched in 2009,£50m has been raised and distributed to their members, including £5m in match funding and £1m in grants.

Each year the Local Charity and Community Group Sustainability Report provides a snapshot of the local voluntary sector, highlighting both the unique value of local groups and the key challenges they face. Now in its third year, this report revisits the core themes of sustainability, staffing, and skills while also addressing emerging issues such as the potential impact of Brexit, GDPR, and devolution.

They would like to thank all 686 local charities and community groups who participated in this year’s survey.

They would also like to thank Sage Foundation for kindly funding their 2018 report.
